Hi GL,

Thanks so much for dropping by and helping to kick off the series here.

Yes, agreed, Twitter and social networking tools are only part of the equation, and shouldn't be at the expense of keeping in touch with contacts, from other parts of our lives. That's a wise caution to new users, especially.

Great post and series, Peg. I find twitter to be both good and bad. I can see how people become addicted to it...how many followers TODAY??
I think the new user just has to maintain his other contacts as well as balance in order to get the most out of it.

Marie,

Thank you so much for kicking off this series, with your encouraging words to me and support of this effort. I am really humbled to be able to share stories like yours, and my greatest hope is that these posts point folks back to wonderful sites like yours: http://beyondbreastcancer.wordpress.com/ or raise awareness for the other causes and organizations that I hope to present here.

I am so glad to know your real name; thank you. And it's great to know that we share a professional interest as well as all that Irish heritage. We also share a love of writing, certainly.

Though I have not experienced cancer directly myself as you have, I still find nuggets of wisdom at your blog that apply to many aspects of life. Your blog seems to me as much about a achieving a healthy perspective on life, as about breast cancer, or life after cancer, and that theme is something anyone can relate to. I especially think this post:
Finding the Right Career
http://beyondbreastcancer.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/finding-the-right-career/
would be of interest to many folks looking for work, or making possible career transitions during these challenging times.

Thank you again for dropping by and for your kind words.
