Get to the Po!nt with MarketingProfs

This post includes my contributions to MarketingProfs Get to the Po!nt newsletters, which ran this past Sept. through Nov, under search marketing.

Get to the Po!nt newsletters provide bite-size nuggets of information, with entertaining summaries of articles from leading marketing resources, including actionable steps and a concluding point to incorporate into marketing strategy.

Since I started contributing to these newsletters, I’ve benefited greatly working with MarketingProfs editorial staff, including Claire Coyne, whose lively voice and copyedits help ensure that the broader series of Get to the Po!nt newsletters are consistently engaging, informative, and actionable.

If you are interested in receiving Get to the PoInt newsletters, you can sign up for free here, on a wide range of topics, including High-Tech MKG & Sales, Search Engine Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Interactive Marketing, B2B Marketing, Email Marketing, Customer Insight, Small Business, and Marketing Inspiration.

Without further ado, here are my MarketingProfs newsletter contributions, from this past fall:

  • When the Honeymoon is Over: To continue developing your client relationship after you have used up your easiest SEO options, put a plan in place to maintain growth, which includes educating your client, managing the budget and client expectations, and being proactive.
  • Getting Hot, Hot, Hotter: To make it onto the Alexa Hot URLs list, study the URLs that are getting the most traffic and take a similar approach. Offer online deals and updates. Also make the most of an error page to keep traffic moving.
  • Good Design Doesn’t Just Happen: Create user personas and search scenarios to help identify the trigger words that will catch your best prospects’ eyes.
  • Searchers to Subscribers to Fans: Turn searchers-to-subscribers-to-fans and naturally boost your site’s SEO.
  • You’re Like the Air to Me: Learn about key points from Charlene Li’s keynote at Search Engine Strategies San Jose last summer, where the co-author of Groundswell examined the intersection of search and social media.
  • SEO will cure that SOS:  Review tried-and-true tips for a good keyword optimization strategy, as offered in a forum discussion at InboundMarketing.com.

I summarized articles for these MarketingProfs newsletters from the following search and online marketing blogs: Search Engine Journal, Bloggapedia, User Interface Engineering, Online Marketing Blog, and HubSpot.

Do you have suggestions on any additional resources for SEO or search engine marketing? What SEO topics interest you the most?
